New mens' support group
"THE HEARTS OF MEN" CONVERSATION
BMEVoluntears would like to invite you to have a conversation about appetite for a men’s group and if so, how that may work.
Our next meeting is at:
The Greenwich Carers Centre, The Stables,
76 Hornfair Road, Greenwich, SE7 7BD
Thursday 2nd May 2019
10am until 4pm
Both men and women are very welcome.
We hope that an inclusive men's group, where all men are welcome, will develop from those present on the day, should everyone be comfortable with this.
Our own initial suggestions are for a Charlton, Greenwich, London based therapeutic discussion group lead by invited guest speakers and our meeting chair preferably but not exclusively psychology professionals: One Existential Psychotherapist and one Creative Arts Psychotherapist.
Where men are wholeheartedly invited to come and discuss things which really matter to them. If, this group can become a regular group, it can offer a safe environment, where we will be encouraged to comfortably talk and share freely with other supportive men.
You will be encouraged and must not feel the need to discuss things which matter to you, although you only always need to share things with this group which you are comfortable with: you are in control.
We hope to discuss data protection at the meeting.
Some suggested topics that have been put forward so far include;
Early Childhood Trauma
Relationships and intimacy
Self-Image + Ego and Self
Sexology + sex
What it is to be a man OR What makes a man? (society)
Maslow's hierarchy of needs
Lifestyle & the Masks we wear
Life at 20,30,40,50,60,70+

WHAT TO BRING
Just bring your good self and you can bring up to 3 people
WHO'S IT FOR?
It's for all us, you, them, I, me and hopefully most of all, our children and mothers.
One of the #selfcare outcomes of our previous event was a collective feeling for a
supportive and safe group where guys can talk at ease, about the things that really
matter to them.
Psychotherapist, Psychiatrists and Psychologists and ‘some’ counsellors and NHS free
thinkers and related male speakers of various faiths and walks are very excited about
this potential group and they will be available for ongoing information, updates,
support and sharing too.
